Join us on an offshore adventure taking you down the coast to Rame Head, approximately 40 km south of Port St Johns.
Start off by experiencing the thrill of a typical African surf launch and then head out to the open ocean where you will have the opportunity of being introduced to some of our oceans fascinating wildlife.
We do a circular route, heading first out to sea for approximately 5 km heading south, whilst looking for a variety of oceanic bird species through to dolphins and whales. Every outing offers something new and unique to be seen.
On arriving at Rame Head, we travel just behind backline slowly making our way back towards Port St Johns, passing scenically beautiful places such as:
- Shark Point
- The Aster Wreck
- Mpande Beach
- Brazen Head Cliffs
Umngazana ( If sea conditions allow we will enter into the Umngazana river mouth and show you the well known Mangrove estuary system…home to 3 species of mangrove trees, an amazing amount of birdlife, a large swimming prawn population and a well known crèche area for a huge variety of marine fish.) Heading slowly back towards Port St John’s we will pass scenic spots such as:
- Umngazi
- Sugarloaf Rock
- Bird Rock
- 3rd Beach/Silaka Nature Reserve
- 2nd Beach
- The Gap and Blowhole
- Cape Hermes Lighthouse
The dramatic and pristine coastal topography along the way makes this trip a photographers’ dream come true, offering some fantastic photographic opportunities from marine animals to scenic topography.
This truly is a trip on the wild side.
